Kirk's Art Studio Gets National Exposure in TLC's "I am Jazz"

On November 30, 2021, Kirk Nicklas appeared on "I am Jazz", a national TLC production. If you haven't seen the show, the main story line concentrates on a transgender girl and her family. Kirk was contacted by the producers for a short segment as a figure drawing teacher in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The segment was recorded need his studio in Wilton Manors. What a fun event.

Male Figure Drawing Classes

NEW RATES AS OF JANUARY 2022. (Please note that class rate have increased as of January 2022. For the Figure Drawing Class the rate is $125 per scheduled 4-week session.Monday Evening Male Figure Drawing Classes are back in session. Photo to Artwork Workshop

Join this class for a 2-week Male Figure Drawing Workshop. The first week we will take photos of the model to be used in your final painting/drawing/pastel artwork. Come with a concept and take photos of the model in a pose to support that concept. You are in control of the photo, so you can light and drape and do what you feel is necessary to get the proper prep photo for your final work.

Class is $60 for the 2 weeks and is being held in Kirk's Art Studio. Sessions are Monday June 13 and 20 from 6:00-9:00pm. Great opportunity to get helpful hints throughout the creative process. To RSVP for this class contact kirknicklas@gmail.com.

Artists and Models Party (May 2016)

What fun!!! A couple times a year we have an Artist and Models party. This time our theme was White Trash party. The food and wine was pretty bad. Lots of twinkles and processed meat. The crowd was great. Here're some photos.

This intense photography workshop will provide a basic understanding of how to take a studio portrait from camera click to mouse click. We will use Adobe Photoshop as it applies to retouching studio images of people. Topics will include setting up a customer ready Photoshop file, masking and layers, tips on retouching people, color balancing, liquifying, painting and adding drama to photos etc.

A space is class will NOT be held for anyone that does not pre-pay. Class fee paid the day of class is $75. The class is limited to the first 6 confirmed registered participants. Class fees are non-refundable in whole or part, UNLESS the class is cancelled or you cancel with less than 3 days notice. Class minimum attendance is 4 students.
